Arshexa is poised to start building a vast art storage facility at Incheon International Airport, with work starting in June or July.
The facility will take up a 33,000 m² site to the west of the airport and gross floor area is about 83,000 m². It can be used for exhibitions and auctions as well as storage of valuable artworks.
The site will be leased for 30 years to Arshexa, which will invest W400 billion (US$1=W1,256) to build and run the facility that includes a state-of-the-art temperature and humidity control system as well as packing and restoration areas and top-range security.
Arshexa CEO Song Moon-suk said Meritz Securities, Mastern Investment Management and Shinhan Financial Group will finance the project, while Dongbu Engineering & Construction and POSCO Engineering & Construction will be the builders, and chemicals firm Sonid, Gallery Bisunjae and Shinsung Safes supply the expertise.
